Baby Apple Pie Breakfast

This baby food recipe is so good, that I think I need to make an adult version! Think apple, cinnamon and chocolate with NO added sugar... mmm.


4 Pink Lady apples

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp cacao powder

1/2 cup quick oats

soy milk (see recipe for amounts)

Makes approximately 400ml


Core apples, then chop into smaller pieces (with skin on).

Steam apples until soft.

While apples are cooking, combine cinnamon, cocoa powder and quick oats in a microwave-proof bowl. Slowly add soy milk (enough to cover mixture).

Mix well, then microwave for approximately 90 seconds (cooking times may vary) to soften/cook the oats.

Once the apples are soft, transfer to a large bowl (reserve water from steaming).

Add oat mixture to the apples.

Using a stick blender, blend the apples and oat mixture until smooth. Slowly add desired amount of "apple water" (reserved from earlier) until you get a runnier consistency.

Allow to cool before serving or storing.
